Badminton 2022 here we come

We are now counting down the days until The World of the Horse returns to Badminton Horse Trials. After a two-year absence from the calendar, due to COViD 19, we are all chomping at the bit to get back to this iconic three-day event.

Visitors to The World of the Horse, will be treated to a new look pavilion, with our long-term sponsors Horse&Rider still centre stage. We are excited to welcome back many familiar brand faces, and some exciting new equestrian businesses. The full line up can be found under our exhibitor section.

In the run up to the event, we are pleased to be running a great social media giveaway, collaborating with many of our exhibitors and offering Badminton Cross-Country day tickets too. This competition will go live on Friday 15th April 2022, so make sure to check out our social media pages @theworldofthehorse . We will also be publicizing our exhibitor show offers and new products on our channels too, so make sure to stay tuned!

PRESS RELEASE
19th January 2015

The the dates and venues for the World of the Horse for 2015 have now been announced.  The popular equestrian shopping pavilion will be present at Badminton Horse Trials, 6 - 10 May, Burghley Horse Trials, 3 - 6 September, and the FEI European Eventing Championships at Blair Castle, 10 - 13 September.

PRESS RELEASE
10th March 2014

The World of the Horse pavilion continues to go from strength to strength and we will again be exhibiting at Badminton, Burghley and Blenheim in 2014.

We have now established our new access flow system for the public whereby they have to pass every stand if they come in one side and leave the other. This is the fairest way to lay out the marquee and it was well received last year.

This year we are doing away with the rather cumbersome aluminum frame at the front of the Marquee and screen printing our name and the brand sponsors logos on the gable end. Visibility from afar will however still be good with framed flags. Exhibitors signs will this year be mounted on board on the outside of both entrances. We have maintained the same locations on the show grounds and are happy to report that the footfall at Burghley is now considerably more than when we were in the Exhibition Village.

Our marquee contractors will again be Attwoolls for Badminton and Blenheim and Snowdens at Burghley. They both do an excellent job and we are more than happy with their services.

Sadly Alison Ulloa - Lata won’t be with us this year after 20 years of working for our company. She has been a huge support to us all at the shows for many years, both management and exhibitors alike and her constant good cheer and friendly manner will be sorely missed. This year our brand sponsors DJ Murphy, publishers of Horse and Rider and Pony magazine, will run their own merchandising stand at the front of the marquee and any exhibitor who has a problem will now have to contact me on site!

We look forward to welcoming exhibitors and members of the public alike to The World of the Horse in 2014.

Managing Director

World of the Horse flourishes at Burghley 2012

The World of the Horse exhibition pavilion, a well-recognised attraction at the major British 3 day events proved a big hit in its new venue this year at the Land Rover Burghley Horse trials. The World of the Horse is renowned for its offering of a diverse range of equestrian products and innovations by its many exhibitors.

The opportunity arose to reposition the pavilion next to the “lion bridge” at Burghley this year, just yards from the main arena and right at the heart of the action throughout the duration of the event. The move has incited many positive comments from exhibitors in World of the Horse. Regular exhibitor, Paul Groomsbridge of Aquamax Horse Bedding said, “many of us had a very successful show, a record show for some exhibitors. The World of The Horse marquee was located in a prominent position and people were coming in and out all the time over all four days”.

It has been noted by several exhibitors that in previous years World of the Horse has been somewhat quiet on cross-country day with visitors to Burghley off out on the cross country course and not at the shops. Marketing Manager of World of the Horse brand sponsor DJ Murphy ltd, Zoe Canon said, “this new location allows the World of the Horse to truly be part of the action, gaining footfall and customers particularly on the all-important cross country day.” Jo Self, General Manager for Feedmark UK went on to say, “I am delighted with the repositioning of the World of the Horse this year at Lion Bridge; we had our most successful Burghley to date”!

Several new ideas have also been introduced to World of the Horse for 2012 all of which are set to continue next year. A valuable prize draw at Burghley was held in conjunction with DJ Murphy, with many of the exhibitors generously donating their products and services to the winner takes all prize fund. Social media has also been a key addition, with both a World of the Horse facebook page www.facebook.com/worldofthehorse1 and Twitter account @WorldoftheHorse set up in addition to the detailed World of the Horse website. These have proved popular with fans and regular updates ensure the public are informed of what is happening in World of the Horse.

Jamie Hawksfield, Managing Director of EV Events, the organisers of the World of the Horse, said “after the cancellation of Badminton earlier in the year it is brilliant that Burghley was such a success for our exhibitors. We look forward to working with the management at Burghley to further improve on the success of World of the Horse which is such a consistent and important attraction at these top 3 day events.”

The World Of The Horse – Event Shopping All Under One Roof!

The World of the Horse (WOTH) shopping pavilion once again provides a great equestrian shopping experience at Burghley and Blenheim. The thrilling Racewood showjumping and cross country jumping simulator will add another dimension to the World of the Horse experience for visitors. Following the cancellation of many events in 2012 owing to the adverse weather, Burghley and Blenheim are set to provide a feast of exciting things on offer for people starved of shopping opportunities.

Burghley and Blenheim have attracted an exciting range of stands for the WOTH pavilion featuring new and innovative equestrian products – there will be something for everyone. Leading equestrian companies including Equestrian Vision, Mountain Horse and Maxavita bring their latest designs and innovations. There will be advice on hand from a wide range of companies supplying everything from feed to magnetic rugs. Also keep your eyes peeled in the pavilion for top riders, they will be popping in to see their sponsors and there will be the chance for autographs.

WOTH at Burghley will be hosting an exciting prize draw with many of the exhibitors supplying valuable prizes including a Mountain Horse Crew Jacket, FMB’s Magnet Medics, a Jeffries Wool Travel Rug, a 3.6kg tub of Feedmark Extra Flex HA Supplement and much more. One winner will win the entire prize haul. At Blenheim shoppers can take part in the Best Foot Forward scavenger hunt organised in association with the WOTH brand sponsor, Horse & Rider magazine. The first 250 people to complete the scavenger hunt successfully on each day will win a pair of Draper Therapies socks and all correct entries will be entered into a prize draw to win a selection of Draper therapies products, www.drapertherapies.com.

The WOTH pavilion will be open for the duration of Burghley (30th August to the 2nd September) and Blenheim (6th to the 9th September). The concept of WOTH has remained a favourite with shoppers over the years, it is all under one roof, (it also makes it a dry place to shelter in the rain!) and it is a leader in showcasing both new and innovative products and services at major equestrian events.

Good Trade in World of the Horse at Badminton

The World of the Horse (WOTH) saw good trade over the five days of Badminton, with genuine interest in the diverse range of equestrian products and a pleased response from exhibitors. Despite the hot weather which can sometimes put people off shopping, there were plenty of potential customers and the pavilion was busy throughout the event.

Paul Groombridge, Managing Director of Aquamax Horse Bedding is a regular exhibitor “The World of the Horse is brilliant for my type of business and the set up of the pavilion works very well. It attracts the right sort of business”. Rebecca Moore of Protexin Probiotic Supplements was also delighted with the response, “This has been our most successful year at Badminton, and we are very happy to have returned to the World of the Horse”.

Many companies enjoy the convenience of having a ready made stand and the smooth running of the pavilion. Jess Coleby of Feedmark said “The World of the Horse was very efficient for us, easily accessible and punctual – both opening and closing on time. The extra day at Badminton this year was a bonus”. Maxavita were also pleased with the extra day, enabling them to double their sales from last year. Holly Reeve Maxavita’s Sales and Marketing Manager had to say “This was the best show we have ever done, The World of the Horse is always well run and opens when you need it to”.

Major brand names such as Champion and Ariat take the opportunity to exhibit their full range of products directing customers to their stockists on site to make purchases. Another draw is the number of top riders such as Tina Cook, Lucinda Fredericks and Matt Ryan who spend time in the World of the Horse visiting their sponsor’s stands. Sally Dunnett of Salamo competition saddlery and bridlework said, “The World of the Horse attracts serious riders who are looking for competition products, people know where to find us and most riders will always come into WOTH”.

Jamie Hawksfield of EV Events, who run the World of the Horse pavilion said “Overall, exhibitors were pleased. The Easter weekend and the extra day’s trading caused some concern for those having to pay staff to man their stand, but the bank holiday and the fine weather certainly attracted the crowds. Business was good, which is very encouraging in the current uncertain economic climate”.

Next stop, Bramham Horse Trials on 2nd to the 5th of June. For further information and booking details Tel: 01403 865454
